Pillowcases for Cousins

My grandaughter Alex, and her cousin Danielle were recipients of pillowcases this Easter. I've made dozens of these as they made great gifts in a hurry.

T-shirt Quilt

Well, it took me long enough. As you can see by the dates on this T-shirt quilt, they have been sitting in my sewing room since at least 1982.. This is a quilt for my husband from some of the conferences, events, workshops, etc, he attended. He worked for USDA for 36 years and collected lots and lots of t-shirts. I liked how it came out. I may look around and see if I have any of my own. This is a very cozy quilt. I used cotton backing and Hobbs 80/20 batting. Did a little quilting and it was finished. Why didn't I do it sooner??? I also backed each t-shirt with a lightweight fusible to give it some body.

I am very happy I was able to create my signature. Took me, my daughter and son almost an hour to figure it out, but it worked. Now I have to remember to space down before each post so it shows up. As ever,

Iris in Vase

Finally a Before & After. I like batiks and decided to make a wallhanging. Probably started this about 5 years ago. As I am cleaning and rearranging, I keep finding these treasures. I'll have a whole wall of quilt pictures before I'm finished. If you enlarge the After picture, you'll see the sparkly thread I used. It didn't shred as I quilted it either. I like using my Janome with the metallic thread.

I started this class in 2004 or so. I took a class with Barbara Olson at my guild. I liked the technique, but it was more intensive than I could manage. I ended up just fusing the petals and added a background and borders. I like the black and white border. It gives a nice detail. After a bit of quilting, it is now ready to hang. But where???
