Here is a new quilt I made using a jelly roll. It went together very easily and I backed with with a type of minkee. Very, very soft. I also tied it because I didn't know how the machine quilting would look on the back. It was very slippery. I like to take the easy way out. Also I was trying to make prairie points, but didn't have wide enough fabric left over. So I took two coordinating 2.5" strips, RST, marked a half moon every four inches, sewed on that line, cut the half moons out leaving a 1/4" seam, turned them right side out and pressed. I figured they might flop around when washed, so I edge-stitched around each, fit them together on the edge of the top and side and backed it with my faux-minkee. I like the affect.

I have quilted many quilts with Minkee on the back and the Minkee looks great when quilted. It almost looks scuptured. You do have to be careful when quilting since it has a lot of stretch in one direction.
I really like your quilt - good job!
I'd love to know what Melinda did to have the quilts come out looking good! Everytime I've tried quilting Minkee I get a horrible amount of skipped stitches everywhere. I've tried so many different needle and thread combinations it's not even funny.
Jen, I agree with you. I was afraid to do machine quilting and didn't even try. Maybe Melinda will answer and tell how she did it. What kind of machine, needle, thread, etc.
