Walking tour

I've been in and out lately and haven't had much time to post on my blog. Toured New England with some walking friends. My friend, Roberta is on a mission to walk in all 50 states and we are helping her accomplish that. We walk with a group called the American Volksport Assn., www.ava.org. I completed my 50 states last year with, Sisters, Oregon being my last state. Fittingly, at the Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show. Needless to say, I had a marvelous time. This time we started in Mystic, Ct, then on to Newport, RI, then Portsmouth, NH and finally Portland, ME. She already had MA..Of all of the walks I liked Mystic the best. Very nice town and the locals are very courteous to tourists. As long as we were in New England, we just had to stop at King Arthur Flour for a tour and of course, Keepsake Quilting. Got there after 4pm but they were open until 6pm, so we had plenty of time to browse their many treasures. I managed to find a nice colorwave in pastels that I will make into a bargello quilt. I promise to cut it soon so I can get started. Also in our walking adventures we did the Cherry Blossoms in the Kenwood section of Rockville, MD. The cherry trees there are more beautiful than in Washington, DC, if that's possible. It is a community that planted cherry trees many, many years ago and they have flourished. Truly a sight to see in the spring.
